Willpower is the positive state of mind, it induces the eagerness to achieve a goal or task. Willpower not only depends on confidence also it depends on attitudes like self control, willingness to do an action it can also be called as an interest, self belief, desire, psychological, health & thoughts related factors.
Self control
Many researchers and psychologist have researched and found that will power is highly related with self control. They also strongly suggested that procrastination reduces the power of will power, while self control is the effective dose in overcoming the problems of procrastination.
It is not possible for a normal human being to change to it or increase self control in overnight, but anything is possible if we adapt to it in a step by step slow process. Self control is a state of mind it can be increased only through regular practice.
Normally our mind has two process systems, one is the go process and the other is the stop process. When our mind is ready to do an action the go process is initiated and when it is doubtful or feared about an action the stop process is initiated. It is not always possible to make the go process to be initiated, but it is possible to reduce the effect of stop process by thinking positively, reducing the negative thoughts within our mind and increasing our interest & desire towards our goal.
All these negative and positive substances are present within every human being, but the way we think and act makes one to dominate another, it can also be stated as these substances play a major role in creating a leader and follower.
Will power is deeply related with self control, while the self control is deeply related with interest, self belief, desire, ambition and the way we think.
So in order to overcome all this problems, the solution is to strongly believe yourself. Always keep a success code within yourself, let it be “Never Give Up”, before you give up find a strong reason to satisfy your needs, thoughts and desires. If you failed to find such a strong reason then there is no use in the term give up.
There are some basic principles in setting goals:
- Set a reasonable and achievable goal
- Sometimes setting a big or unachievable goal makes you to take negative and wrong decisions, it reduces will power to move forward.
- Always start with an easy goal as you achieved it then, move it to the next bigger one.
All these principles not only help a newbie to achieve the target easier, but also the successful outcome increases the confidence to work more.
Activities to increase will power
- Meditation is an effective way to increase self control. It act as a catalyst to increase will power.
- Reading best books, finding a good book and following it effectively will cause positive changes.
- Don’t compromise yourself in sleep, good sleep of 7-8 hours will balance the activities performed by our hormones
- Eating healthy food like food rich in carbohydrates and proteins give a healthy body and increases the positive thought process
- Stress has the ability to reduce will power, never give space for it
- Don’t work towards a goal when you are hunger, it has the ability to reduce the positive thoughts about the task
- Will power is related with wealthy mind and healthy body, so keep your mind happy so it enables fresh and energetic thoughts to flow.
There is always a relation between all the activities we do, while all the activities are related with on e another to make an action. Likewise will power and self control is closely related in our daily life.
